Tree-mendous

In a recent google search of Route 66 we ran across this little interesting story.

Longtime readers may remember a story from a couple of years ago where the Pritchard’s of Pontiac, Ill., decided to do something different about getting rid of a nuisance pine tree in their yard. Instead of chopping down the tree, they had a chain-saw artist whittle it into the shape of an old-fashioned gas pump. Pritchard’s house sits just a block east of Route 66, and the sculpture serves as a tribute to the Mother Road as well. I know we have some really good chain-saw artist up here in the Blairsville, Georgia area.
